Sportsmen For Hunger Concert

Lizard Creek is a fun
happy blast of Celtic/Americana. Their music spans the timeline of the
traditional music of Scotland and Ireland, the early folk music of America, and
the new sound of contemporary Celtic music.
Long time friends and 18th century reenactors, the members of Lizard Creek spent
summer evenings entertaining folks around the campfire. Through years of playing
with other period musicians from around the globe, they have acquired a vast
storehouse of period tunes, sea shanties, and ballads of hardship and high
adventure. Mixed in with some favorite contemporary footstompers, their music
has a timeless appeal - attracting fans of all ages, kids grandparents alike.
Even the teenagers know the choruses and sing along. Guests often invade the
stage for an impromptu sing along of seafaring work songs. Before long everyone
is part of the show. The around-the-campfire feeling is inescapable.
The band can perform in eighteenth century garb, and has all the gear to do an
authentic pirate persona.
